- 1
If something is abundant, it exists or is available in large quantities — more than enough, not scarce. Fruit can be abundant in summer. Evidence can be abundant. Wildlife can be abundant in a park. The usual patterns are abundant in a place, or an abundant supply / an abundant amount of something. It is a little more formal than lots of, but it is still ordinary written English. Though actually, abundant does not by itself tell you the thing is good; weeds can be abundant too. It only tells you there is a lot.
