In Britain, 12 on a film or trailer means the board has said only people aged 12 or over may see it. You will hear a 12, a 12 certificate, rated 12. The stories at this level can be scarier or ruder than a PG, but they are still meant for younger teenagers, not for adults-only films. Though actually, British boards also use 12A: a child under 12 may go if an adult sits with them; a plain 12 (used more on home video) does not give that extra door. This is not the American system: the US has PG-13, which is a cousin idea, not the same stamp. People say it in everyday talk about what to watch; it is a label, not a lesson in maths.
在英國，電影或預告片上的 12 是分級，表示只有 12 歲以上的人才能看。常見的說法有「a 12 certificate」（12 級的分級）和「rated 12」（被分為 12 級）。這個級別的內容可能比 PG 更嚇人或更粗俗，但還是給年輕青少年看的，不是給成人的。
