Zilch means nothing, zero, not one bit. It is a casual, joking word. If your friend asks how much money you have left and you say 'Zilch', you are saying 'none at all' — and you are saying it lightly, maybe laughing at your own bad luck. You use it for amounts and results: money, points in a game, information you found, effort someone made. 'I got zilch out of that meeting.' 'We searched all afternoon and found zilch.' It can also sit right after a verb like a number: 'The score was three to zilch.' Because it is slang, keep it out of school reports, business emails, and anything formal — write 'nothing' or 'zero' there instead. It sounds friendly and a bit old-fashioned-fun, the same family of words as 'nada', 'zip', and 'nought'. Note that it names a quantity, so it goes where a noun goes; you cannot use it before another noun to mean 'no' (you can't say 'zilch money').
組成Probably from 'Joe Zilch', a made-up name for a nobody used by an American newspaper writer in the 1920s — like saying '某某人' or English 'John Doe'. From a name meaning 'nobody in particular' it slid into meaning 'nothing at all'.
