A wrestler is a person who does wrestling — the sport where two people grip each other and try to force each other to the ground. It is a countable noun. The word covers two rather different worlds, and native speakers usually know which one you mean from the context. There is the real Olympic sport, where wrestlers are serious athletes in tight suits fighting for points; and there is professional wrestling on television, WWE and so on, where wrestlers are performers with stage names, costumes and stories, and the fights are planned in advance. If someone says "my is a wrestler", English speakers in America will probably think of school or college wrestling, which is a big deal there; elsewhere they may picture the TV kind. Because wrestlers are usually big and strong, the word also gets used as a picture of body type — "he has a wrestler's neck", "built like a wrestler". wrestler is the usual English for 相撲選手; the word wrestler is doing the work there. Note there is no separate feminine form: a woman who wrestles is a wrestler.
