A short report that goes over the main points of something again, at the end. On the news, the wrap-up is the last minute or two where the presenter runs quickly through the day's big stories; in sport, it is the summary after the match. The word is also used for the summary at the end of a meeting, a conference, a school term or a project — "let's do a quick wrap-up" means let's say the main points once more and finish. It is fairly informal but perfectly normal at work, and it is more common in American English. The idea comes from the verb wrap up: you wrap paper round a parcel to close it, so wrapping something up means finishing it and closing it . That verb has two uses worth knowing — "wrap up the meeting" (finish it) and "wrap up warm" (put on warm clothes). Note the : the noun is a wrap-up (some writers now spell it wrapup), while the verb stays two words, to wrap up.
