    'Wonderingly' describes how someone looks at, speaks about, or touches something when they are quietly by it. A child seeing snow for the first time reaches out wonderingly. Someone hearing surprising news repeats it wonderingly. Two feelings sit inside it: surprise, and a kind of soft admiration. It is a slow, quiet word — nobody shouts wonderingly. Almost always it goes with verbs of looking and speaking: look, gaze, stare, say, repeat, ask, shake one's head, touch. It is a book word. You meet it in novels and translated stories, and you would rarely hear it in real conversation; in speech people say 'she looked ' or 'he said it like he couldn't believe it'. Because it appears so often in written stories, it also carries a slightly old, gentle flavour — the flavour of a narrator telling you what a character's face looked like.

組成'wondering' + '-ly'. 'Wondering' comes from the verb 'wonder', which itself has two meanings — to be amazed, and to ask yourself a question. The '-ly' turns it into a word for how an action was done. Note which meaning survives here: 'wonderingly' is mostly the amazed one, not the questioning one.
