Wembley is a district in northwest London, but when English speakers say the name they almost always mean the stadium there. Wembley Stadium is the national football ground of England: the England men's and women's teams play their home matches there, and the FA Cup final is played there, so for English football fans it is the place every player dreams of reaching. The old stadium, famous for its two white towers, was pulled down in 2003; the new one, with its huge arch over the roof, opened in 2007 and holds about 90,000 people. It is used for far more than football — rugby, NFL games, and some of the biggest concerts in the world. Because of all this, the name carries a feeling of 'the biggest stage there is', and people say things like 'a trip to Wembley' or 'we're going to Wembley' to mean reaching a final. There is also Wembley Arena next door, a large indoor concert hall, which is a different and much smaller place.
