Having no weight, or to have none. The true, scientific use is about space: astronauts floating inside a spacecraft are weightless, because they and the ship are falling together around the Earth, so nothing pushes up under their feet. People also say it about being in water — your body feels weightless in a swimming pool — and about anything so light it hardly seems to be there: a weightless silk scarf, a weightless cake. Writers like it because it also suggests being free of worry: "I felt weightless when the exam was over." It is a positive, pleasant-sounding word almost every time.
組成weight (重量) + -less (沒有…)。-less 這個字尾來自古英語 -lēas，本義是「鬆開、脫離」，所以 weightless 就是「和重量脫了關係」
