Vomiting means throwing up - when food or liquid from your stomach comes back up and out through your mouth, usually because you are sick or your body is trying to get rid of something harmful. It's the more clinical, formal-sounding word; in everyday talk people often say "throwing up" or, in British English, "being sick" instead.
