Volubly is the adverb from voluble: it tells you HOW someone spoke or acted — a lot, quickly, and with the words coming easily. You attach it to verbs of speaking: talk volubly, complain volubly, apologise volubly, protest volubly, thank someone volubly. That last group matters, because volubly very often turns up with feelings that spill over — people apologise volubly when they are , and thank you volubly when they are grateful and a bit flustered. The tone is formal and literary; in normal speech you would say "he talked non-stop" or "she went on and on." Word order is flexible — "she talked volubly about her trip" or "volubly, he defended his friend" — but the plain position right after the verb is the safe one. It is not a common word, so when a writer chooses it, they usually want you to picture the sheer flow of the talk, not just the fact of it.

組成voluble + -ly. The -ly ending is the normal English way of turning an adjective into an adverb (quick → quickly). Because voluble ends in -le, the e drops and it becomes volubly, not "volublely".
