Whether something is able to actually work, survive, or succeed - that's viability. We talk about the viability of a business plan (can it really make money?), the viability of an idea (can it actually be done?), and in medicine, the viability of an baby (can it survive outside the body). It's a word mostly used in serious, careful discussion, not casual talk.
