    Untreated means something has not been given the treatment it usually needs. For a medical condition, it means no medicine or care has been given, which is often dangerous — an untreated infection can get worse. For materials, it means no protective treatment has been applied, like untreated wood, which can rot faster, or untreated water, which hasn't been made clean and safe to drink.
