To unleash something means to suddenly let it go free after holding it back — like taking a dog off its leash so it can run wild. We mostly use it for big, powerful, or dangerous things: you "unleash" your anger, your creativity, an attack, or a storm. It's a strong word — it makes whatever is released sound big and hard to control now that it's out.
