The undead are creatures that are dead but still move, think, or act as if they were alive — zombies, vampires, and some ghosts are all called 'undead' in horror movies, games, and fantasy stories. The name is a little strange if you think about it: they are not alive, but calling them simply 'dead' would not capture how they keep walking around and causing trouble.
