A large rugby stadium in west London, and the home of English rugby: the Rugby Football Union has its offices there, and the England men's team plays its home international matches there. It holds over 80,000 people, which makes it one of the biggest rugby grounds in the world. English people often just say 'Twickenham' or the joking short form 'Twickers' to mean a match there, the way you might say a stadium's name to mean the game — 'we're going to Twickenham on Saturday' means going to watch rugby, not visiting a town. Twickenham is also the name of the ordinary London suburb the stadium sits in, so context tells you which one someone means.
組成An old English place name: from a personal name Twicca plus hamm, meaning 'river bend' — so roughly 'Twicca's land at the bend of the river'. The river is the Thames.
