A person somewhere in their twenties — the 'something' stands in for the digit you don't know or don't need to say. It is casual and quite friendly, and it usually carries a picture with it: young adult, out of school, working or trying to, not yet settled. Newspapers and love it for talking about that stage of life. You can use it as a noun ('the flat is shared by three twentysomethings') or before another noun ('a twentysomething couple', 'twentysomething office workers'). The same pattern gives you thirtysomething, fortysomething, and so on. You may see it written twenty-something with a ; both are fine.

組成twenty + -something, where 'something' replaces the unknown last digit of the age — twenty-something meaning 21, 24, 28, we're not saying which.
