A short, fast form of cricket. Normal cricket can take a whole day, or even five days. In Twenty20, each team bats for only twenty overs — an over is six balls — so one match finishes in about three hours, like a football match. It started in England in 2003 to bring people back to the game, and it worked: it is now played all over the world, and the biggest Twenty20 competition is the IPL in India. Because the time is short, players hit big and take risks; fans who find long cricket slow usually like this form. People often shorten it to T20, and you will see it written that way far more often than 'Twenty20'. You can use it as a noun ('they play Twenty20') or before another noun ('a Twenty20 match', 'the Twenty20 World Cup').
