A truffle can mean two related things. The main one is a rare, expensive type of fungus that grows underground near tree roots and has a very strong smell and taste - chefs shave tiny bits of it onto fancy dishes. The other is a small, round, soft chocolate, named because its shape and bumpy surface look like the fungus.
