The Trossachs is a beautiful area of hills, woods and lakes in central Scotland, north of Glasgow. In the narrow, older sense it means one small valley — the wooded pass between two lakes, Loch Achray and Loch Katrine. In the way people use it today it means the whole region around there, which is now part of a national park. Always with "the": you go to the Trossachs, not to Trossachs.
