In British English, a trolley is a cart with wheels that you push - like the one you use in a supermarket to carry your shopping, or one used to carry food or drinks around. Americans usually call the supermarket one a "cart" instead. Trolley can also mean an old kind of vehicle that runs on rails through a city, powered by electricity from wires above - a "trolley car," mostly an American term for a type of .
