The piece that covers the front end of a shoe or boot, over your toes. Sometimes it is just a separate layer of leather sewn on, which is why smart men's shoes often have a line across the front — that line is the edge of the toecap, and shoes with a decorative pattern there are called 'toecap' or 'cap-toe' shoes. But the more important kind is the hard one: a steel or hard plastic toecap built inside a work boot to protect your feet if something heavy falls on them. Building sites, factories, and warehouses often require these, and the boots are called steel-toecap boots (British) or steel-toe boots (American). You will also hear 'toecap' when someone talks about the part of a shoe that gets scuffed, worn, or polished — soldiers and police officers polish their toecaps until they shine like glass. British English writes it as one word or with a hyphen (toe-cap); American English usually prefers 'toe cap' or just says 'toe' in the boot sense.

鞋頭、鞋尖（包住腳趾前端的那一塊）；工作鞋裡那種硬的叫鋼頭，整雙鞋就是「鋼頭鞋」或「鋼頭安全鞋」。台灣工地講「鋼頭鞋」的頻率遠高於講「鞋頭」，如果你講的是安全鞋，直接說鋼頭鞋最清楚。
