Tittle-tattle is talk about other people's lives that does not matter — who is seeing whom, who said what about whose new car. It is very close to gossip, but the sound of the word tells you how the speaker feels about it: silly, small, not worth your time. Someone who calls something tittle-tattle is usually dismissing it — 'it's just tittle-tattle' means don't believe it and don't repeat it. It is mostly a noun ('I have no time for tittle-tattle'), and can also be a verb, meaning to sit around talking that way. Two things to know about how it is really used: it sounds British, and it sounds old — a grandparent or a newspaper column might use it, while young people almost always just say gossip. So it is a word to understand when you read it, not one you need in your own speaking.
