Thrillingly means in a way that gives you that quick rush of excitement — the heart-beating-faster kind. It is an adverb, so it goes with a verb or, much more often, with another adjective, to say how something is: 'thrillingly fast', 'thrillingly close', 'thrillingly dangerous'. That second use is the common one. It is doing the job of 'so that…' in a single word, and it usually appears in writing that wants to sell you a feeling — reviews of films and concerts, sports reports, travel writing. 'The match was thrillingly close' means the closeness itself was what made your heart race. Though actually, this word is rare in speech. People do not say 'that was thrillingly good' at the dinner table; they say 'that was amazing'. Keep it for writing, and even there use it once, not three times, because it is a strong word and it wears out quickly if repeated.

組成thrilling + -ly. The ending -ly turns an adjective into an adverb — slow → slowly, quiet → quietly, thrilling → thrillingly. 'Thrilling' itself comes from the verb 'thrill', which long ago meant to pierce or make a hole through. The excitement sense grew from that: a feeling sharp enough to go right through you.
