1. 1

Testimony is what someone says, usually formally, to state that something is true — most often what a witness says in court, under oath. Outside of court, 'testimony' can also mean someone's personal story of what happened to them, especially in a religious sense, like sharing your 'testimony' about your faith. And in a more everyday way, something can 'be testimony to' a fact, meaning it's proof or evidence of it: 'Her success is testimony to years of hard work.'
