Tar is a thick, black, sticky substance, a bit like very heavy dark syrup. It's made from coal or petroleum and used to make road surfaces hard and waterproof. Tar is also one of the harmful substances found in cigarette smoke, which is why cigarette packets often mention how much "tar" they contain.
焦油、瀝青。
組成From Old English "teoru," a very old Germanic word for the same sticky substance.
