A takedown has a few different uses. Online, it means having a website, video, or post forced offline - a company can send a 'takedown notice' to have something removed. In wrestling or fighting sports, a takedown is when one fighter forces the other to the ground. And in writing, a 'takedown' can also mean a sharp, critical piece written about someone or something, pointing out everything wrong with it.
