Supervisory describes a role or responsibility involving supervising others — watching over their work, checking it's done correctly, and guiding them. 'A supervisory position' is a job where you're in charge of other workers, even if you're not the very top boss. It's a formal, workplace word — you'd see it in a job posting or an org chart more than in everyday conversation.
