Squidgy means soft enough that your finger sinks in when you press — and, usually, that it springs back or squashes rather than breaking. Think of a marshmallow, a fresh , a soft toy, wet clay, a ripe peach. The feeling is pleasant more often than not: a squidgy cake is a compliment, meaning moist and soft in the middle instead of dry. It can also be unpleasant if the thing should not be soft — squidgy ground after rain, a squidgy old tomato. It is very informal, spoken rather than written, and strongly British; Americans mostly say squishy, which means much the same thing. People also use it about a baby's cheeks or a pet. There is no exact single Chinese word: it sits between 軟軟的, 綿密, and 有點黏手, and which one fits depends on what you are touching.
