Soullessness is the quality of having no soul — but almost nobody uses it about religion. In real life it describes a place, a building, a job, a piece of music, or a whole company that feels empty inside: nothing warm, nothing personal, nothing that a human being clearly cared about. Think of a huge office block where every floor looks the same, or a shopping mall where the music never stops and no window shows the sky. That feeling is what people are naming. It is a noun, and it is formal — you meet it in writing far more than in speech. In conversation people just say 'the place feels soulless'. It carries a quiet complaint: the speaker is not saying the thing is bad at its job. The mall works. The office works. That is almost the point — it works, and something human got lost while it was being made efficient. Occasionally it is used about a person, and then it is harsh: it means they act with no feeling for anyone, like a machine wearing a face.
