To snort means to breathe out roughly and noisily through your nose, often making a short, loud sound — a horse might snort, or a person might snort to show they think something is stupid or funny (a kind of , sudden laugh or sound of ). , and much more seriously, 'snort' is also used for illegally breathing a drug in through the nose, which is dangerous and against the law.
