1. 1卡扣式的、按上就固定的(用手一壓就「喀」一聲扣上,也能輕鬆拔下來,不用螺絲或工具)

Describing a part that you fix into place by pressing it until it clicks, and take off again just as easily — no screws, no glue, no tools. Snap-on wheels, a snap-on lid, a snap-on phone case, snap-on lens for a camera. The word tells you two things at once: how it goes on (a quick push and a click) and that it is meant to come off again, so you can swap it, clean it, or replace it. That is why it appears so often in and instruction manuals — it is a selling point that says easy. It goes before a noun and stays the same: a snap-on cover, two snap-on covers. As a verb the words separate: the lid snaps on. Related words follow the same idea: snap-together, clip-on, press-fit. The idea comes straight from snap, the sound of that small sharp click, which is also why we snap our fingers and why a bag has a snap . (Snap-on is also a well-known American tool brand; that is a name, not this meaning.)

組成snap (the small sharp clicking sound, and the quick movement that makes it) + on (into place). The word imitates the sound the part makes when it fixes.
