Seven voyages七趟航行 are the famous ones是最有名的 He他 is not a person from history不是歷史上真實存在的人物 he is a story hero而是個故事裡的英雄人物 like a character in a long adventure book就像一本長篇冒險故事書裡的角色
English has used both spellings; films and pantomime almost always choose Sinbad. The name was borrowed from Arabic, and before that from older Persian.
English has used both spellings英文兩種拼法都用過 films and pantomime almost always choose Sinbad電影和默劇幾乎都選用 Sinbad 這個拼法 The name這個名字 was borrowed from Arabic是從阿拉伯語借來的 and before that from older Persian而在那之前則是來自更早的波斯語
Though actually, a folk story about the name says it is Persian pieces for a place, Sind, plus “wind.” Scholars do not treat that as certain, so we should not teach it as fact. What is sure is the character: the sea-adventure hero of those nights of stories.
Though actually不過其實 a folk story about the name says有個關於這個名字的民間說法認為 it is Persian pieces for a place, Sind, plus "wind."它是波斯語裡「Sind(一個地名)」加上「風」拼起來的 Scholars do not treat that as certain學者並不認為這是確定的 so we should not teach it as fact所以我們不應該把它當作事實來教 What is sure is the character確定的是這個角色 the sea-adventure hero of those nights of stories也就是那些夜晚故事裡的海上冒險英雄
組成Borrowed from Arabic سِنْدِبَاد (sindibād), from Middle Persian (compare Persian سندباد sendbâd), possibly from Sanskrit siddhapatha (“path of the Blessed”). A folk story splits it as Persian send + bâd (“wind”); that is not a sure origin.
