A sidecar is a little one-wheel car bolted to the side of a motorcycle. One person drives the bike; another sits in the sidecar, low down, beside the driver. They were common when a was a cheap way to carry a passenger or a bit of cargo. You still see them in , in old films, and as a tourist ride. Though actually, Sidecar is also the name of a cocktail — same spelling, nothing to do with engines. Here we mean the vehicle.
