Sexism is the belief that one sex — men or women — is weaker, less clever, or less important than the other, and the unfair treatment that grows from that belief. It can live in one person’s attitude, or in a habit at work, at school, or in a whole society: who gets hired, who gets heard, who does the unpaid work.

Though actually不過實際上 people sometimes stretch it to有時候人們會把它套用到 any comment about men and women they dislike任何一句他們不喜歡、關於男女的言論 even when the comment is not really saying one sex is worth less即使那句話其實並沒有真的說某個性別比較沒有價值。And here sex而這裡的sex means指的是 male and female男性和女性 not the sexual act而不是性行為。
