Seeming means it appears to be this, especially when that may not be the real story. Her seeming calm hid how scared she was. It sits in front of a noun (seeming innocence, seeming delay) and is a little formal; in everyday talk people more often say apparent, or they use it seems / it looked like. Though actually, seeming does not always scream “fake” — sometimes it only means “what we can see from the outside” — but it often carries a hint that the inside is different. The adverb people use constantly is seemingly (he was seemingly fine). Do not mix seeming with , which is about polite, proper behaviour, not about appearance.
