Seasonality is the fact that something changes with the time of year — up in some months, down in others. Ice-cream sales have seasonality; so does tourism; so does the flu. If something has strong seasonality, one month cannot stand for the whole year. Business people, news writers, and scientists use this word a lot. It is not a kitchen-table word. You will see it in reports: the seasonality of how many people want something, the seasonality of jobs. It names the pattern, not the season itself.
