Scriptural means contained in the Bible, or based on the Bible. A scriptural teaching is one you can point to in those writings. It is a church and school word, rather formal — you will meet it in religious class, sermons, and serious discussion, not in chat about everyday life. It is not about film scripts. Christians use it most, because Scripture in English usually means the Bible; other faiths have their own holy books, and English more often says those by name.
