Scented means a thing has a smell, and usually a pleasant one people meant to be there. A scented candle is made to fill a room with orange, pine, or rose. Scented soap, scented cream, a scented drawer liner — the smell is added, or it belongs to the thing in a nice way. We often name the smell in front: rose-scented, vanilla-scented. It does not have to be strong; a lightly scented cream still counts. Though actually, scented leans towards a smell someone wanted. It is not the same as saying something stinks. On bottles you will often see the opposite, unscented: no extra smell added, which some people prefer for skin or for a small room.
