    A satirist is someone who satire: they make fun of people, power, or foolish habits in order to show what is wrong, not only to be cruel. Newspapers, novels, TV comedy, and political cartoons all have satirists. The word is neutral and a little respectful; calling someone a satirist says they have a craft. It is not the same as a comedian who only wants laughs. Though actually, a sarcastic is not a satirist just because they say sharp things. A satirist is aiming at a public fault, with a form (a story, a sketch, a song).
