A sarnie is a sandwich, in informal British English. It is a , spoken word — the sort you use for a cheese sarnie packed for a trip, not for a restaurant menu. The ending -ie makes it sound small and friendly, like . Americans do not say sarnie; they say sandwich, or sometimes sammie. It is only the food. It has nothing to do with a sari, the Indian garment, even though the two words can sound alike if you say them quickly.
三明治(英式口語)
組成Probably from a dialect way of saying the first bit of sandwich (sarn-) plus the friendly -ie ending. Another idea is that it comes from sammie (another nickname for sandwich), with the m changed to rn. Either way, it is a pet name for sandwich, not a new kind of food.
