Sana is the capital city of Yemen, the country at the south-west corner of Arabia. English news also writes Sanaa and Sana'a; those are the same city, not three places. It sits high in the mountains, inland — not a port. For a long time it was the capital of North Yemen; after North and South Yemen joined into one country in 1990, maps called Sana the capital of the whole Yemen. Though actually, Yemen has been at war for years, and the government that many other countries still talk to has often sat in Aden, by the sea, while other groups have held Sana. Geography books still print Sana as the capital. You do not translate the name; you say Sana. Speakers do not all stress it the same way; a common English way is roughly sa-NAH.
