The Sabbath is a day of the week set aside for rest and worship in Judaism and Christianity. For Jewish people, it runs from Friday evening to Saturday evening; for most Christians, it is usually Sunday. On the Sabbath, many religious people avoid work and focus on rest, family, and prayer. Outside religion, people sometimes use "sabbath" loosely for any regular day of rest.
