Saba is a small, steep island in the Caribbean. It is only about five miles across. It belongs to the Netherlands: older books say the Dutch Antilles, which was the old group name; though actually, that group was split up, and Saba is now a special municipality of the Netherlands — Dutch land, not its own country. The airport is famous because the runway is the shortest one in the world that regular passenger planes still use; the landing looks almost too short. People go to walk in the hills and to dive. English is widely used there, even though the island is Dutch. The name is easy to mix with , a large state in Malaysia: similar spelling, totally different place.
