A rusk is a piece of bread baked again until it is hard and dry. The kind a ’s book usually means is a slightly sweet rusk for babies: they hold it and chew when new teeth are coming through. In Britain, packets of baby rusks are an ordinary supermarket thing. Adults eat rusks too in some places — hard slices to dunk in tea or soup — but the baby meaning is the one you are meant to learn first. Though actually, it is still bread, not a chocolate ; it only feels like a because it is dry and snaps. If someone offers you a rusk with tea, they mean that hard slice, not baby food.
組成English does not split this word. It was borrowed from Spanish or Portuguese rosca, a twist or roll of bread.
