If someone is rumbustious, they are full of energy, fun, and noise — a bit wild, but usually in a happy way, not a cruel one. Think of children tearing around a garden, or a party that has grown loud. It is a British-flavoured word, slightly old-fashioned and a little comic. Americans more often say rowdy or . You would not put it in a serious report. A rumbustious crowd is noisy; a rumbustious puppy knocks things over. It is kinder than unruly and warmer than loud.

組成Uncertain. It is probably a variation of older robustious (“robust, large, noisy, violent”), from robust + -ious. Another guess is a playful rum- sound plus bust + -ious. Nobody is sure.
