A rockery is a part of a garden built with rocks, and small plants growing in the gaps — tiny flowers, moss, little that like poor, dry-ish soil. make it on purpose to look like a miniature stony . It is a British-flavoured garden word; Americans more often say rock garden. You will see it in house-and-garden English, not in everyday chat unless someone is proud of their garden.
