    If a person is robed, they are wearing a robe: long, loose clothing that hangs on the body, the sort you see on judges, priests, graduates, or kings in stories. It is a rather adjective — robed in white, a robed figure — and you meet it in ceremony, court, and fiction more than in chat. Though actually, robed can also be the past of the verb robe, meaning someone put a robe on them; this entry is the wearing sense, like dressed. Nobody says I am robed about a dressing gown at home; that would sound like a play.
