Righteousness is the quality of being morally right or good — doing what is fair and honest because it's the right thing to do. It often comes up in religious or moral talk. Be a little careful with it, though: in real life, people use 'self-righteousness' — acting as if you are more moral than everyone else, in an , superior way — much more than plain 'righteousness.'
