A rhapsody is a piece of music that feels free and emotional, without following the usual strict structure of other music — a famous example is Gershwin's 'Rhapsody in Blue.' Away from music, 'a rhapsody' or 'waxing rhapsodic' describes very enthusiastic, almost overexcited praise or talk about something you love.
