A revolving thing is built to turn in a circle, again and again: a revolving door, a revolving chair, a revolving stage. The movement is usually smooth and meant to keep happening, not a single spin. Though actually, banks talk about revolving credit — money you can borrow, pay back, and borrow again, as if the amount keeps turning over. That is the same picture stretched into money talk. As grammar, revolving is also just the -ing form of , so “the Earth is revolving” is ordinary turning, while “a revolving door” names a kind of door.
